Associations based in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger or Guinea Conakry working for women and against gender-based violence are eligible
THE FEMINIST OPPORTUNITIES NOW PROJECT
The aim of the Feminist Opportunities Now project is to combat gender-based violence by supporting and strengthening local associations committed to the cause of women.
Stemming from an initiative by French diplomacy and supported by IPPF Afrique, CREA, Médecins du Monde, FIDH and Empow’Her with the overall aim of combating GBV, it aims to :
- Improving the sustainability of women’s associations
- Supporting their resilience and diversity
- Promoting a network of local associations committed to women’s issues
- Strengthen their ability to innovate
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
Empow’Her is launching an appeal to local associations working for women against GBV, interested in structuring a project to generate funding. They will benefit from a support program to help them create sources of financing through the construction of an entrepreneurial project. The aim is to secure and even develop their activities with their beneficiaries, strengthen their impact and further professionalize their positions.
To be eligible, associations must meet the following criteria :
- Be a women’s CSO committed to GBV that has been in existence since at least 2022
- Be based in Burkina-Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea Conakry or Niger
- Have at least 1 ongoing project/activity
- Be legally registered
- A good Internet connection (most of the course is videoconferenced)
- To be able to designate a contact person capable of being involved in the project for several days a month
THE SUPPORT ROUTE
The tour starts in January and runs until June. The selected organizations will benefit from a diagnosis, support sessions, professional coaching and group training, and will have the opportunity to meet the other participating organizations at a seminar.
