Who we are ?

who we are ?

Empow’Her is an international network dedicated to
women’s social and economic empowerment. We
have worked since the beginning with a common vision : to change
the entrepreneurial industry into something more inclusive
that will empower women.

Our vision

We dream of a world where every woman has the power to undertake freely in order for them to carry out successful projects. A world that guarantees their independence and their social recognition. A world in which women are the actors of their own enlightenment. This world is only reachable if the hurdles that are preventing women to expand gives way to the same resources and opportunities as men. We believe that this world is a matter of justice. Therefore, an entrepreneurial industry that guarantees to protect women’s rights has the potential of becoming a lever to fight and solve the inequalities women face in the world.

Our purpose

Our purpose is to insure the social and economic empowerment of women, by enforcing their liberty and capacity to become entrepreneurs. To this end, we have developed multiple programs with the same goal: supporting women in the achievement of their projects, allowing them to reach their potential and giving them the opportunities to feel empowered through entrepreneurship.

What we do

Accompanying and supporting women entrepreneurs is our core
mission. But because the problems and inequalities they
face are precisely systemic, raising awareness and getting the rest of the players in the ecosystem moving
has become a necessary action
to ensure the sustainable reduction of inequalities.

We unleash the business potential
of women

by developing their
capacity
as entrepreneurs.

We enable the emergence of the collective power of women

by helping them to reinforce their leadership and for them to assist each other.

We reinforce awareness in the ecosystem

and within the communities that surround the women.

We develop partnerships
with
with other stakeholders

so that they can contribute to women empowerment.

Our goal since our beginnings :
allow women to feel empowered

2012

The first steps towards Empow’Her

Empow’Her’s history starts in 2012 when Soazig Barthélemy the founder, surrounded by a group of friends, begins a study in different countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America on how entrepreneurship can act as a lever for female empowerment.

2013

Empow’Her’s creation

In 2013, the association of Empow’Her was founded, and the very first training programs are structured and carried out with groups of female entrepreneurs in different countries. At this point, the stress is put on the women that are the most vulnerable in entrepreneurship and that has never had access to services that train and support.

2015

An initial team to develop Empow’Her’s impact

The association until now relied solely on volunteering from its members. It’s in 2015 that the team enlarges itself, Soazig Barthélemy develops Empow’Her under the form that we know it today. Projects multiply at an international scope, and the first supports and partnerships equally join the organization.

2017

The creation of the first “sister organization” in Côte d’Ivoire

The international vocation of Empow’Her brings us quickly to Ivory Coast, a known country for its dynamism in the entrepreneurship field, but equally for its unequal context between men and women. In 2017, the Ivorian association Empow’Her Ivory Coast sees the day to deploy new activities from Empow’Her directly to female entrepreneurs in the country.

2018

The expansion of the Empow’Her network in France and Niger

After the opening of the first Hub in Ivory Coast, two new teams are constituted simultaneously in France and in Niger to deploy our support programs alongside these female entrepreneurs in these two countries. It’s also in 2018 that the signature program Women’Act is created to offer support adapted to women who have entrepreneurial projects with an impact that is either social or environmental.

2019

The first support actions alongside other organizations

Concerned to truly transform the entrepreneurship field and to listen to the many demands of the ecosystem, Empow’Her did the gamble to launch a new consulting activity and support many organizations (NGOs, Enterprises, Institutions…). These collaborations have allowed the empowerment of thousands of other women in the world and are now a mainstay in our impact strategy.

2020

Empow’Her’s network extends to Africa in more than 20 localities

Empow’Hers team is now more than 40 professionals that are specialized in entrepreneurship, training, or even in woman’s rights. In Africa particularly, Empow’Her is present in more than 20 localities, mainly in West Africa.

2021

Appearance of our « Sist’Her » spaces

The inauguration Empow’Hers 3rd « Sist’Her » space in France in 2021, after the two first opened in Ivory Coast (2017) and Niger (2018). These spaces constitute the first network of spaces dedicated to women entrepreneurs. These spaces welcome activities carried out by Empow’Her but they are also open to other communities of women entrepreneurs.
