Fostering Women’s Social Entrepreneurship
The “FOWOSE” project in partnership with Pulse
This Erasmus project aims to provide a solution to the lack of gender mainstreaming and inclusiveness in entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship in particular, by acting directly on the organisations that support them on a daily basis.
The lead partner is Pulse. Empow’Her is an pedagogical partner in this project and is responding to the primary ambition of creating tools to encourage social entrepreneurship by helping to make the project more inclusive and sensitive.
It comprises three main tools designed to :
1. Train trainers in gender bias
2. Facilitate and generate communities of women entrepreneurs
3. Attract and select women entrepreneurs

A HUGE GENDER ISSUE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
This project came about at the initiative of Pulse, who was confronted with gender issues both in the selection of entrepreneurs and in the subsequent support provided.
This led to Pulse’s desire and need for support and an outside perspective on its practices.
The Fowose project stems from a shared desire by its partners to increase the inclusion of gender in their practices and to promote female entrepreneurship in Europe.
By creating specific support content for organisations and enabling them to share their good practice, providing better training and opportunities for women entrepreneurs. In turn, these tools and methods will be disseminated regionally, nationally and across Europe to create a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem for women.
This project is part of a wider ecosystem support initiative.
As well as setting up a pathway and providing support for women entrepreneurs, the aim is to take a more systemic approach.
The tools we produce will provide a framework for the future. In this way, we will have a wider impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem and not just on women entrepreneurs.
In this way, the structures will take better account of women’s needs.
Empow’Her supports Pulse in four main areas :
1# in the way women entrepreneurs are selected.
2# in measuring gender-sensitive impact.
3# in organising communication to make it as inclusive as possible.
4# in the way women are trained and supported on inclusion issues.
3 organisations supported in gender mainstreaming.
15 entrepreneur trained in gender mainstreaming.
