Empow’Her Fellowship is an international collective of women changemakers. The women in the community are committed leaders whose projects evolve daily to build a more sustainable, inclusive and just world.
Meet five of our Fellows !
The Fellow Stephanie Brancaforte
Stephanie is an Italian-American social change professional with a particular interest in climate protection, nature conservation and human rights. She tries to bring people together to solve big problems, in a way that helps them feel more powerful and build community – at least that’s what she aspires to. She lives in Sicily, the beautiful, rugged land of her ancestors, where she is reconnecting with the knowledge of traditional plants and the rhythm of the Mediterranean seasons, although she has lived in many parts of the world. If we weren’t living in a time of crisis, she’d spend most of her time writing novels and climbing trees. She is delighted to be in contact with so many other women who can inspire her to explore other ways in which companies can foster social change.
His project : Transistor
“Transistors”, the coordinating centers of inclusive transition, are intentionally organizing to develop a vision and plan for equitable decarbonization. They launch campaigns, participatory democracy and economic development projects to pursue their goals, learning from and supporting each other in the cities through a national coordination structure.

The Fellow Julia Freudenberg
Julia is a joyful mother of two beautiful children, CEO of Hacker School, and “happily married for 20 years to the most incredible part-time nerd, whose attitude to life inspires her every day to grow Hacker School even further.” Before Hacker SchooL, she acquired some twenty years of expertise in sales (for example, launching Ben&Jerrys ice creams in Germany) – a formidable job that gave her guerrilla marketing skills that are now proving exceptionally useful in changing the world, even with very limited budgets. In fact she is also involved in federal and local politics.
Her Hacker School project
Hacker School’s aim is to give every child and teenager the chance to try their hand at coding at least once, whatever their background, so that they can shape their own (digital!) future. Workshops organized in schools and companies offer children a learning experience both inside and outside the classroom, while giving them a direct insight into the working environment and enabling them to interact with the experts there.

The Fellow Laure Frech Brouard
Laure has been working in the field of social innovation for over 8 years, with social entrepreneurs at different levels of maturity (from idea to mature social enterprise). She found that many people had good ideas for making the world a better place, but that many of them were unknowingly reinventing the wheel. That’s why she co-founded the Snowball Effect to spread high-impact, reproducible ideas across Europe ! She is also a coach and a happy mother. She loves to sing and is very interested in the human sciences.
Her projet The snowball effect
At Snowball Effect, we help budding change-makers accelerate their impact without reinventing the wheel. The “Solutions Exhibition” showcases carefully selected solutions with proven impact that can be replicated ” as a whole ” to solve problems on a larger scale. It’s within everyone’s reach to make a positive impact on their local community, while contributing to a wider movement, without wasting time or resources !

La Fellow Isabel Diez Velasco
Isabel est avocate et consultante en droits de l’homme basée à Madrid (Espagne). Elle est titulaire d’un diplôme en droit et en sciences politiques et d’une maîtrise en droit de l’Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Elle a toujours été enthousiaste quant à la manière de changer les dynamiques discriminatoires dans la société, que ce soit par le biais de l’enseignement universitaire, du droit ou de l’art. Elle a travaillé pour des ONG, des institutions universitaires et des cabinets d’avocats sur les droits des migrants, des enfants et des femmes. En outre, elle ne peut comprendre le monde sans danser et photographier ses amis, sa famille et d’intéressants inconnus.
La Fellow PalomaTorres Lopez
Paloma est avocate spécialisée dans les droits de l’homme et activiste juridique féministe, passionnée par la transformation du droit en un moteur de changement social. Au cours de sa carrière, elle a acquis une vaste expérience en travaillant avec des ONG internationales et des institutions universitaires dans des domaines tels que les droits de l’enfant, la migration et l’asile, ou le genre et l’intersectionnalité. Elle aime aussi faire du théâtre et lire des livres de science-fiction et de fantasy écrits par des auteur·e·s féministes.
Leur projet Medusa
MEDUSA est une équipe d’avocat·e·s et de consultant·e·s spécialisé·e·s dans le droit international des droits de l’homme. Il·elle·se sont réuni·e·s pour contribuer à la défense des droits de l’homme et au progrès de la justice sociale. Isabel et Paloma, avec MEDUSA, utilisent le droit de manière créative dans le but d’ouvrir de nouveaux horizons dans la défense des droits de l’homme ; prenant en compte les différentes structures sociales et juridiques que les gens traversent dans tous leurs projets. Elles sont de ferventes défenseuses de l’utilisation du droit comme outil pour progresser vers une société plus juste et plus équitable.
