This awareness program spread over 12 months will consist in training 30 people aged\u00a018 to\u00a030 year old so they can raise awareness on gender equality among their peers.<\/p>\n<p>But\u2026 what&#8217;s the Young Ambassador program?\u00a0The idea came from several observations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young people are not heard or called upon enough when it comes to gender equality. Things are slowly evolving, but there are still too few initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0is crucial to give young people keys to understand inequality and to make sure they can make their voices heard about\u00a0it.<\/li>\n<li>We need a framework where young people can take action and discuss together freely.<\/li>\n<li>We need to allow youths to create\u00a0their own solutions fore equality.<\/li>\n<li>Equality is everyone\u2019s matter and everyone should participate, whatever their age, gender or origins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here, at Empow\u2019her, we believe that the new generation will be the next champion for equality and we truly want to commit to\u00a0a positive and lively awareness-raising\u00a0work made BY and FOR young people. Last night, all these people \u00a0gathered in this room showed that a project\u00a0like ours is needed.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to thank Marine Himbert from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iledefranceactive.fr\/spip.php?article60\">DRFE<\/a> who has been giving great support to our actions for over a\u00a0year now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4129\" src=\"http:\/\/empow-her.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG_8064.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"5184\" height=\"3456\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Comedian and Youtuber <a href=\"http:\/\/swannperisse.com\">Swann P\u00e9riss\u00e9<\/a> made us the honor of being there last night. She\u00a0took part in women-empowering initiative #EllesFontYoutube (#GirlsMakeYoutube) launched by Google. She made a speech where she talked about being a women comedian, and reminded us that it&#8217;s important never to self-censor in the creation process.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4123\" src=\"http:\/\/empow-her.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG_8099.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"5184\" height=\"3456\" \/>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cartoonist Thomas Mathieu was also with us. He founded <a href=\"http:\/\/projetcrocodiles.tumblr.com\">Projet Crocodile<\/a>, where he draws harassment situations in comic strips where men\u00a0are anthropomorphized into crocodiles. He spoke about his artistic work around this project and explained that he discovered feminism\u00a0by watching Sofie Peeters\u2019 documentary on\u00a0street harassment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to everyone who was there with us\u00a0and the ones that could not make it but still share our values: Mathieu Lassabli\u00e8re from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uniscite.fr\/\">Unis-Cit\u00e9<\/a>, Sophie Michon from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.companieros.com\/\">Companieros<\/a>, Maud Pr\u00e9tot from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.100000entrepreneurs.com\/\">100 000 entrepreneurs<\/a>, Luc M\u00e9nager from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apprentis-auteuil.org\/\">Apprentis d\u2019Auteuil<\/a> and the list goes on\u2026<\/p>\n<p>We would also like to give a special thank to our YA in which we strongly believe. Through this program, they will make their voices heard and push the fight for equality a bit further.<\/p>\n<p>And now, time for action !
